Brake work is one of the most driveway-friendly jobs there is — it needs hand tools, jack stands and someone who knows what they're looking at, not a lift. We do pads, rotors and full inspections on-site across Scranton, Dunmore, Taylor, Wilkes-Barre, Pittston and the towns around them.
When it's time
- A high squeal that appears when you brake and disappears when you don't — that's the wear indicator doing its job.
- Grinding. That's past the indicator and into metal-on-metal; stop putting it off.
- A pulsing or shuddering pedal, usually warped rotors rather than pads.
- The car pulls to one side under braking.
- The pedal sinks further than it used to before anything happens.
What the job includes
- Pull the wheels and measure actual pad thickness and rotor condition — not a guess through the spokes.
- Show you the wear before anything is replaced. If the rears have life left, you'll hear that.
- Replace pads and rotors as needed, clean and grease slide pins and hardware.
- Check the calipers for sticking and the lines for corrosion or weeping.
- Bed the new brakes in properly so you don't get a shudder two weeks later.
The honest part
Brakes are where a lot of people get sold work they don't need, because most customers never see the parts that came off. We'd rather tell you the rears can wait another season than sell you a four-corner job today — a customer who trusts the quote is worth more to a two-person shop than one extra invoice.
Wheels are already off, so it's the natural moment to look at tire wear and check the other axle. Bulbs and wipers are easy add-ons on the same visit.
