When you're due
- The sticker or the maintenance minder says so — and the sticker is usually conservative.
- Oil on the dipstick is dark and thin rather than amber and slightly viscous.
- Mostly short trips around town — that's harder on oil than highway miles, and the interval should be shorter.
- The car sat unused for a long stretch. Oil ages by time as well as mileage.
- You genuinely can't remember the last one.
What's included
- Full drain and refill with conventional, synthetic blend or full synthetic — whichever your engine actually calls for.
- New filter every time, and a new drain plug washer where the manufacturer specifies one.
- Interval matched to how you drive, not a blanket 3,000 miles.
- Fluid levels topped and tire pressures checked while we're there.
- Old oil and filter taken away and recycled properly.
Why bother having someone come to you
A shop oil change costs you the drive, the wait and the upsell conversation. Having it done where the car already sits costs you none of those. It's also the visit where a second set of eyes catches the cheap problems early — a weeping hose or a wiper that's about to tear is far better found now than in February.
Bulbs, wipers and a general look-over are quick add-ons on the same visit rather than a separate call-out. Mention it when booking.
